Starck narrates the story of Noah’s wife which started from an unnamed town. The town experienced years full of nonstop rain. The residents started to relocate themselves to a sunnier climate. The population declined by a huge number. There was zoo which attracted visitors, attracts no more visitors nowadays. Noah is the young minister who is indulged in saving people from immense flood. The people of town has lost all hopes from the managers.

Noah’s wife still holds a special place for hope towards Noah’s acts to save the town. She gets surprised when Noah thanks her for joining his hands towards the town. Starck devotees the chapters to the people who joined their hands with Noah in his journey. We learn about the people’s deepest desires, their fears. At a larger view, Starck’s characters work collectively against the weathering storms. There isn’t any conclusion to the story but it ends at a deeper note where Noah’s wife meets a man at a cemetery and Starck discloses the point of view behind the novel.

This is an extraordinary piece by Lindsey Starck which is a must read.
